Jackson Browne is rightfully considered one of the most influential singer songwriters of his time, ranked alongside the likes of Joni Mitchell and James Taylor. In 2004, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame by Bruce Springsteen, and in 2007 into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame. Browne reached the peak of his career during the 70s & 80s where each of his albums charted in the top 10, and overall reaching over 18 million album sales in the US alone. Browne wasn’t just known for his own albums, but as a talented songwriter too – writing songs such as These Days for Nico, and Take It Easy for Eagles.
Jackson Browne’s third album, Late For The Sky touched on themes of love, loss, and life itself. It includes the beautiful title track, Fountains of Sorrow, For A Dancer, and Before The Deluge – which was famously used in Martin Scorsese’s Taxi Driver. Browne was joined by David Lindley and his stellar group, along with guests Dan Fogelberg, Don Henley and J.D Souther for the recording of this album. The Grammy-nominated album was named in the greatest 500 albums of all-time list by Rolling Stone.
