Just An American Boy is a documentary about Steve Earle directed by filmmaker Amos Poe, best known for his work on the legendary punk movie Blank Generation. Shot at the height of the controversy about Earlešs song "John Walkeršs Blues", JAAB is a portrait of Earle standing by his politics and his music. The film contains eighteen live recordings of songs spanning Earlešs twenty-five year career as one of American musicšs most powerful voices, including "Guitar Town", "Copperhead Road", "Jerusalem" as well as on-stage monologues on topics ranging from StevešsHometown through to his opposition to the death penalty. The Guardian (U.K.) has described Earlešs live shows as a "display of how politics plus passion equals the most exciting music"; that display is clearly in evidence in the Just An American Boy DVD.
DVD contains bonus footage, Including the Music Video for the classic ground breaking song "Jerusalem".
