Press Release: "On this CD, two of the most incredible and far out sound-sculptors who venture off the beaten track of zeitgeisty electro-acoustic music shake hands. Anybody who thinks he or she knows their avantgarde should listen to this record. And be amazed. Tracks : 1) ESCAPADE - Because Because Because 17.58 2) ACID MOTHERS TEMPLE - European Sun 28.08 3) ESCAPADE - Transformation 2 13.31
‘A Thousand Shades Of Grey’ kicks off with Escapade – 18 minutes of a new kind of post-rock/sounding a bit like early Amon Düül jamming with Shellac. This is followed by 28 minutes of Acid Mother's Temple, the Japanese answer to Hawkwind, Motörhead and Grateful Dead combined. Like Escapade, AMT take their time in building up their track. The heap layers upon layers of synth-sounds and weave these together with vocal improvisations into a tapestry of increasing complexity. The second track by Escapade starts out as a seemingly 'normal' rock-track with drums and bass. But after a few moments these familiar forms vanish to be replaced by a spooky free-form guitar-improvisation, which reminds one of the cacophony of Pink Floyd during their A Saucerful Of Secrets-phase"

"In the last ten years, Japanese bands like the Boredoms, White Heaven or the almighty Acid Mother's Temple have secretly re-invented rock (especially its psychedelic form). Marble Sheep are another band who have played their part in this process. Founded in 1987 by ex-WHITE HEAVEN guitarist Ken Matsutani, they played extensive jams and experimental improvisations in their formative years. They also excelled at the odd Velvet Underground- or Pink Fairies-cover. With the incredible volume of their shows, they often brought the power-system of the clubs they played to collapse. Which is exactly what their new album For Demolition Of A Spiritual Framework sounds like. Only more extreme. For this music is totally heavy. At least as heavy as Hawkwind, Black Sabbath and St. Vitus combined. MARBLE SHEEP aim to propel their listeners out into the vastness of the universe, into otherworldly spheres. And these spheres are probably as far out as those someone like Sun Ra moved in. Unbelievable"
