Jacques Brel: Clocking in at 15 remastered CDs (with one bonus 28 track CD only with the box) 'La Boîte Intégrale' comes with a 100 page book and, as you might imagine, is the last word in career overviews for the great Belgian. Talking Heads ‘Once In A Lifetime’ box set - 3 CDs and 1 DVD, 54 tracks.  "Assembled with all of the band members' participation, Once In A Lifetime' offers plenty for longtime fans as well as those just discovering the band. The three CDs provide the most comprehensive overview of the band ever released, compiling all the hits as well as album cuts and rarities. The audio discs include five previously-unreleased tracks.The DVD, is 'Storytelling Giant' (Expanded), which compiles all of the band's music videos on DVD for the first time. The disc offers three videos never before on DVD (and which were not part of the 1988 VHS release of Storytelling Giant)-"Blind," "(Nothing But) Flowers," and "Sax And Violins"- as well as previously unseen additional interview footage" All the info here. EMI are set to release "The Long Road Home", a Hollies 6 CD, 134 track Box Set on the 29th September. Featuring classic tracks, B-sides, album tracks, rare foreign releases, live recordings and previously unreleased material. The box comes along with a booklet with a 17,000 word history. AC/DC - Limited Edition 15 Vinyl Album Box Set - This is a U.S.A. release by AC/DC. All 15 albums have been remastered and come housed in a limited edition, heavy -duty, leatherette box with the AC/DC logo stamped in silver. All 15 of the albums are 180 gram Audiophile pressings and all are re-mastered from the original master tapes. Original LP artwork is augmented with newly designed sleeves featuring rare photos, memorabilia and detailed essays. We are told that this is a one off special, never to be repeated. I've just watched both of the following DVDs and they really are as good as the advanced publicity made out. Even though the stage sets are of their time, (made-up railroad platforms, garages and bars) the film and sound are of very high quality and the performances are fantastic. Highly recommended...
Something really special here: Nearly three hours of previously unseen performances filmed in the early 1960's during the famed American Folk Blues Festival tours of Europe. One of the most consistent sellers over the years at SPIN has to be David Crosby's 'If I Could Only Remember My Name', so it's good to read in the new issue of Mojo that its due to be reissued in the new year, with bonus tracks - Crosby refers to the album saying "I think I'm going to do a 5.1 mix of it, because it was sort of an audiophile record with so much going on".... I can hardly wait and I'd be interested if you've heard more.
