The SPIN Team

Please use this search engine as a guide as we cannot always  guarantee the availability or price of a CD you may turn up from one of SPIN's hundreds of pages.

We at SPIN CD's can get our hands on virtually any CD that you want...of course we have our specialty areas, The DEAD, Psychedelia, New Country and any reissues however obscure, we have what you might call a MOJO profile. If you've read a review in Mojo, Uncut or the like, we'll have it in stock. We also trawl around the smaller labels and some 'Internet Only' outfits to stock hard-to get releases.  Everything that appears on this page is archived either below the logo at the top, or on the links down this side of the page. Thanks for visiting and thanks for your custom.

Cecil Taylor Feel Trio - '2 T's for A Lovely T'
Coming hugely recommended by 'The Wire' (best Jazz release of 2002) and The Guardian who had this to say:
"This is where Cecil Taylor wound up over 30 years after the At Newport recording. He is playing here with a British virtuoso free-improviser and new-music percussionist with a rich jazz history (Tony Oxley), and the stormily formidable American bassist William Parker in an uncompromising spontaneous trio. These ten discs were recorded over a week of shows in London in 1990, The transparency of the sound enhances the differences of intensity and shape across these shows, though the set is intentionally a chronicle of the way a brilliant free-improvising ensemble works over a sustained period, rather than the interpretation of a repertoire. A very specialised item, certainly, but for Taylor disciples, and the more generally musically curious, it is breathtaking" 10 CDs £124.99

The first of those Revola reissue has just arrived, Robert Mitchum - 'Calypso Is Like So…' "The celebrated (some would say infamous) Calypso album by the King Of Cool himself, Robert Mitchum... after hanging out with such Calypsonians as Mighty Sparrow and Lord Invader while on location in Trinidad, Mitchum sold the idea of this album to Capitol Records, Mitchum opted for an "Ethnic" sound, with no attempt to adapt either the music or his friends' lyrics for an American audience....giving us the spectacle of songs written specifically for a local audience delivered uncut by a major Hollywood star! As a bonus we add both sides of a single, the 'Duane Eddy In Dub' sound of "Thunder Road" (from the film of the same name) and it's flip, the Eddie Cochran-esque "My Honey's Lovin Arms".....which prove that had he wanted to, Mitchum could have given Elvis a run for his money This is a key entry in the collectable 'Exotica' genre with bonus tracks from an impossibly rare Capitol single £8.99 //. Tom Russell – 'Modern Art'
"Musically this is acoustic singer/songwriter with a subtle Texan twist, and the list of people contributing is impressive, most notably Nanci Griffith who sings duet vocals on 3 tracks, and there’s excellent guitar work from Andrew Hardin throughout; other musicians include Eliza Gilkyson and Gurf Morlix. Of the 13 songs, most are original compositions, but there are a few well chosen covers, Michael Smith’s ‘The Dutchman’ being the pick of them, it’s a great song and Russell delivers it perfectly. A future classic and an album not to be missed" (Fish Records) £12.99

Four Collectors Choice psyche gems on their way: Rose Garden - 'Rose Garden ' "Most folks remember this band solely for the song 'Next Plane to London' that leads off this album, but for fans of California folk-rock, this record has some real gems, not the least of which are the two Gene Clark songs, 'Till Today' and 'Long Time', that Clark wrote for them and were never recorded by anybody else! Includes 'Looking for You; Great Changes Since I’ve Been Born; the Kinks’ Rainy Day in June; Added Attraction (Come See Me); Dreaming Man; Stroke Stand; Bad News; Don’t Waste My Time; Colonel Chicken Fry', and 'Brand New Start'. £11.99 And, two we've already mentioned,: Bruce Palmer 'The Cycle Is Complete' "This is easily one of the most ambitious releases of the late ’60s and early ’70s, consisting of only four tracks, 'Alpha - Omega - Apocalypse', 'Interlude', 'OXO', and 'Calm before the Storm', 'The Cycle Is Complete' blends psychedelic trance jams with world music and even free jazz to create a vibe......I bet you can't wait to read more....£12.99.
