From the very first verse of the song “Fruits of My Labor” it is evident not only that Lucinda’s voice is in top form, but that she’s done it again. She has crafted yet another unparalleled record, and she has surpassed her last two standout releases. This may be her best record since Sweet Old

The
first of those Revola
reissue has just arrived, Robert
Mitchum - 'Calypso Is Like So…'
"The celebrated (some would say infamous) Calypso album by the King Of Cool himself, Robert
Mitchum... after hanging out with such Calypsonians as Mighty Sparrow and Lord Invader while on location in Trinidad, Mitchum sold the idea of this album to Capitol
Records, Mitchum opted for an "Ethnic" sound, with no attempt to adapt either the music or his friends' lyrics for an American audience....giving us the spectacle of songs written specifically for a local audience delivered uncut by a major Hollywood star!
As a bonus we add both sides of a single, the 'Duane Eddy In Dub' sound of "Thunder Road" (from the film of the same name) and it's flip, the Eddie Cochran-esque "My Honey's Lovin Arms".....which prove that had he wanted to, Mitchum could have given Elvis a run for his money This is a key entry in the collectable 'Exotica' genre with bonus tracks from an impossibly rare Capitol single

The
Wizards From Kansas "These guys sorta
combined mid-period Airplane and Quicksilver inflections, with a healthy dose and understanding of country music" (From borderlinebooks.com:)
"This was an obscure country-influenced band whose sole album contained fine versions of classic period songs High Flying Bird and Buffy St. Marie's Codlne, as well as some excellent original compositions notably Misty Mountainside, Country Dawn and She Rides With Witches. The band exhibited a fine range of harmonies, and were indeed from Kansas! The album is recommended and is a significant minor collectable"

sites including www.led-zeppelin.com)
