reissues from Collectors Choice Music: Jay Ferguson 'All Alone In The End Zone'
"Jay’s first solo release after Jo Jo Gunne was this excellent 1975 album for Asylum. Includes
'Snakes on the Run; Turn It Up; Medicated Goo; Madam
Doktor; All Alone in the Endzone; Cinnamon City; To the Island; Hit and Run; Everybody Goes from Here,' and 'Time and Time
Again'. £11.99. Rose Garden - 'Rose Garden '
"Most folks remember this band solely for the song 'Next Plane to London' that leads off this album, but for fans of California folk-rock, this record has some real gems, not the least of which are the two
Gene Clark songs, 'Till Today' and 'Long Time', that Clark wrote for them and were never recorded by anybody else! Also includes 'I’m Only Second; February Sunshine; Coins of Fun; Rider; She Belongs to Me; Flower Tone', and 'Look What You’ve Done'.
£11.99 Then, Stoneground - 'Stoneground'
"Beau Brummels vocalist Sal Valentino turned aside from the roots-rock of the band’s last two albums in favor of the bluesy, psychedelic soul (e.g. Cold Blood, Janis) that predominated in the Bay Area at the end of the ’60s with this group, which boasted no less than four female vocalists!"
Includes 'Looking for You; Great Changes Since I’ve Been Born; the Kinks’ Rainy Day in June; Added Attraction (Come See Me); Dreaming Man; Stroke Stand; Bad News; Don’t Waste My Time; Colonel Chicken Fry', and 'Brand New
Start'. £11.99. More Collectors Choice stuff soon

Cecil Taylor Feel Trio - '2 T's for A Lovely T' Coming
hugely recommended by 'The Wire' (best Jazz release of 2002) and The Guardian
who had this to say: "This is where Cecil Taylor wound up over 30 years after the At Newport recording. He is playing here with a British virtuoso free-improviser and new-music percussionist with a rich jazz history (Tony Oxley), and the stormily formidable American bassist William Parker in an uncompromising spontaneous trio. These ten discs were recorded over a week of shows in London in 1990, The transparency of the sound enhances the differences of intensity and shape across these shows, though the set is intentionally a chronicle of the way a brilliant free-improvising ensemble works over a sustained period, rather than the interpretation of a repertoire. A very specialised item, certainly, but for Taylor disciples, and the more generally musically curious, it is
breathtaking" 10 CDs £124.99

The
Wizards From Kansas
"These guys sorta
combined mid-period Airplane and Quicksilver inflections, with a healthy dose and understanding of country music" (From
borderlinebooks.com:)
"This was an obscure country-influenced band whose sole album contained fine versions of classic period songs High Flying Bird and Buffy St. Marie's
Codlne, as well as some excellent original compositions notably Misty Mountainside, Country Dawn and She Rides With Witches. The band exhibited a fine range of harmonies, and were indeed from Kansas! The album is recommended and is a significant minor collectable"

Fresh from the success of “Get Together,” the Youngbloods signed to Warner Bros. in 1970 for four albums that ranged from folk, bluegrass, jazz, and country to good old rock ‘n’ roll. 1970’s Rock Festival and ‘71’s Ride The Wind, both recorded live, find Jesse Colin Young’s mesmerizing guitar and vocals shadowed perfectly by jazzy electric piano and percussion. Russell – 'Modern Art' "Musically
this is acoustic singer/songwriter with a subtle Texan twist, and the list of people contributing is impressive, most notably Nanci Griffith who sings duet vocals on 3 tracks, and there’s excellent guitar work from Andrew Hardin throughout; other musicians include Eliza Gilkyson and Gurf Morlix. Of the 13 songs, most are original compositions, but there are a few well chosen covers, Michael Smith’s ‘The Dutchman’ being the pick of them, it’s a great song and Russell delivers it perfectly. removed, the batteries in the Walkman used to make the recording were running low

she decided to sonically improve the recording and release them as part of a lavish two-CD package, now called the
