Formed in 2005, Cats and Cats and Cats have been slowly carving out their own musical niche with a satisfying blend of uplifting anthemic, folk inspired pop. The London four piece, have shared stages with 65 Days of Static, Foals and Blood Red Shoes, as well as performing twice at the legendary Glastonbury Festival. Previous releases include a split EP with This Town Needs Guns on the which placed Cats firmly on the radar of publications such as NME and Rock Sound and gained stellar reviews from popular music website Drowned in Sound. The group have also recorded several Maida Vale sessions for BBC Radio 1's Huw Stephens and Bethan Elfyn. 2010 saw the release of début album If I Had an Atlas through Function Records (Maybeshewill, These Monsters, Juffage, Shield Your Eyes) and was warmly received by both fans and critics alike. This year sees the band follow on their success with 2nd album Motherwhale. Described as “ "Math pop story-telling in a museum of crumbling instruments,” it tops off an already exciting 2011 which has seen the band tour the U.S.A for the first time in May.

“The musical culmination of everything good you can say about Mew and Arcade Fire” Drowned in Sound

“The best description, though, is probably this: it’s perfect.” Bearded Magazine

“Epic post-rock crescendos and a capella interludes.” NME

“They write pop songs, but they are not afraid to experiment, and in this way, they explore the best of both worlds, making them even harder to forget.” 8/10, Drowned in Sound
